Blessed and Praised

“Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭31:28‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I know this is a day late but I just want to say “Happy Mother’s Day” to all the mothers out there. I hope y’all and enjoyed your special day!

This verse was mentioned in church last night and as I sat there , it dawned on me that I’m in the position to fulfill both parts of the verse! I’m blessed to be a child of an awesome mother and I can definitely praise my wife as she is a wonderful mother to our girls!

I am thankful for my mom. She did so much for myself and my brother and sister while we were growing up. Even though we are grown and out of the house, I know that she still wants the best for us and would do anything for us if she could. I’m blessed now because of everything my mother did for me when I was a child.

For my wife, I have nothing but praise for her. She is an amazing mother to our girls! She will put their needs and wants before her’s! My wife will sacrifice everything to make sure her family has enough. I can’t say enough to praise her, but I know I’m so thankful for her and everything she does for us!

To all the mothers out there, thank you for all that you do. You play a part in more than just your own children’s lives. There are mom’s out there who cared about me throughout certain times in my life and they played a huge part in where I am today and for that I’m thankful!

Happy Mother’s Day! (Even if it’s a day late)

Vacation Time

We are getting ready to take a vacation back home to Colorado. To say that I am excited is an understatement!

I miss home!

I miss my parents!

I miss the mountains!

I am so ready for this vacation! And my family is also. Brooke, my oldest daughter, everyday is asking if it is the day that we are leaving for Colorado. She is just as excited as I am!

One of the things that I am stressing out about is the trek through the airports! I don’t mind flying but this is the first time flying with two kids! We decided to get this airport carseat stroller thing to haul the carseat and Brynne at the same time…hopefully it works like it’s supposed to! Brooke has flown before, but as a baby, I am excited to see how she acts on a plane!

While there in Colorado, we will be doing some things as a family like the aquarium, the children’s museum and maybe the zoo or something else. I am looking forward to making memories with my family as we explore these places.

I am hoping the weather is good so that we can enjoy the natural beauty that Colorado has to offer. I’m hoping my wife can get some good pictures…as I think she is a phenomenal photographer!

The other thing that I am stressing out about is preparing to preach while on vacation. I have been asked to preach on Thursday night at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Denver. On Sunday, I have been asked to teach Sunday School and preach Sunday night at Grace Baptist Church in Pueblo! I am honored that I have the privilege to open the Word of God and preach, but I am already nervous!

Pray for us as we travel that we would have safety and a good time! Also pray for me that I would bring the messages that God would want me to preach and that I would be used by Him to be a blessing!

Throughout the week, I will try to post pictures and videos of our adventures!

Stay tuned for exciting updates and changes to the website!!

Gifts From Above

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. Of his own will begat he is with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.” James 1:17-18

A gift is something given to someone by someone else that doesn’t require any form of payment by the person receiving the gift.

We all like receiving gifts. Most of us like giving gifts. God blesses giving people. We should all try to have a giving heart and just help those around us.

No matter what we give to others, God has still given mankind the greatest gift ever.

“Every good gift…is from above…” We can take a look around us and look at all the things that God has blessed us with. In my own life, I have a wife that God has blessed me with. Our two little girls are gifts from the Father. Our house, our car, our clothes, our food, our needs supplied, those are all good gifts from the Father. Without God, I would have nothing because I truly believed He has given me everything. God is the giver of every good gift. Those good gifts, He gives you and I are those blessings in our daily lives. They are the needs that He fulfills on a daily basis. The good gifts from above are the peace He gives us in the storms of life. They are the comfort He gives in the hard times. Those gifts are the joy and happiness we have from Him. Look around at all the good gifts He has given you and just be thankful!

“Every perfect gift…cometh down from the Father of lights…” I found the phrasing of this verse interesting, there are good gifts and there are perfect gifts. I believe that God has given us two perfect gifts.

  1. The gift of salvation “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 God gave His only Son for our sin. He gave His perfect Son. Jesus Christ was the first perfect gift to mankind. Without the perfection of Jesus Christ, we would be lost, on our way to Hell. Thank God for His perfect Son as He gave us salvation!
  2. The gift of the Word of God “The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.” Psalms 19:7 God gave us His perfect word in the King James Bible. He gave us His perfect word so that we could live a blessed life. Don’t take for granted the only physical perfect gift that God gave us.

Take a moment today to thank God for all the gifts that He has given us, including salvation and the Word of God.
