Somebody Died For Me

I heard the phrase “Somebody Died For Me” in a message this past week and I wrote a poem about!

We just finished up our youth conference at our church this week and it was an awesome conference.

There was one phrase that stuck out these past two days and I still can’t get it out of my head! I can’t stop the feeling of joy and excitement it gives. I can’t help but think of the seriousness of the matter. I can’t help but feel so loved by God. The phrase is the title of this blog, “Somebody died for me.”

“ But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

Somebody Died For Me

In my sin and all alone,
Somebody had to die for me.
Jesus, willingly left His Father’s throne
Just so He could die for me.

Born in a little town,
Knowing He had to die for me.
He left His robe and crown,
Just so He could die for me.

Lived a sinless, perfect life,
So that He could die for me.
Endured so much pain and strife,
So that He could die for me.

As He hung upon that cross,
He was dying for me.
When all hope was lost,
He died for me.

He was laid in the tomb,
He had died for me.
Oh, but there’s joyous news,
He arose for me!

He has conquered the grave,
He has risen for me!
Receive Him and I can be saved,
He has risen for me!

Yes, somebody died for me.
A sacrifice for my sin,
He arose again,
So I can one day be with Him.

I’m so thankful
Somebody died for me.

National Atheist Day

“The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.” Psalms 53:1

According to the Bible, today must be the atheist’s national holiday. It is April 1st, also know as April Fools Day. If you have said there is no God, than you are a fool according to the Bible.

Look around and see all the great things that God has done. I know that there are a lot of bad things going on in the world, but the greatness of God still outweighs all the bad.

God is real. He has proven that in my own life but what He has done for me. He has saved me and changed my life.

I know that there are many others who can give testimony to what God has done for them.

Don’t be a fool today. Don’t deny that there is a God! Don’t be a part of the growing crowd that says there is no God!

Have You Betrayed Christ?

Betrayed. I am sure we have all been at that point where we felt like we were betrayed.

The definition of betrayed that I would like to focus on today is “being disloyal to.”

When we hear the word, “betrayed,” we think of Judas betraying Jesus in the garden. Judas was a disciple of Christ, he traveled with Christ, he fellowshipped with Christ, yet he was the one who betrayed Jesus for a measly 30 pieces of silver.

We give Judas a hard time, we preach how he was disloyal and betrayed Christ. Which is true! Look at Peter, he wasn’t a saint either! He denied Christ three times!

Hey Christian, you are not exempt from betraying or denying Christ, whether on purpose or on accident. Be careful in what you say and what you do so that it always points people to Christ and not away from him!

Take a look at your Christian life and ask yourself if you have betrayed Christ. Ask yourself if you have denied Christ. If you have, there is no better time than now to ask for forgiveness, because God is a God of second chances.
