Welcome to 2018! Yes I know that this is January 2nd, but I enjoyed my holiday yesterday! I hope everyone has had a good holiday season between Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years it is always a busy time!

I have been absent from writing the last couple months, not that I don’t think about it everyday, I just keep getting mind blanks when I try to sit down and write. I enjoy sharing things from my life and truths I have learned from my Bible reading or even things that God has pointed out in my daily life. I hope that I will be able to share more content this year with you!

It is the beginning of the year and it is the time where everyone some resolutions and goals that they would like to achieve in the upcoming year. I think it is good to have short-term, mid-term, and long term goals every year. It lets you see where you are at and how far you have come if you set goals like this.

“I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:14

I have 3 main goals this year.

  1. Read my Bible through.
  2. Write at least one blog a week.
  3. Lose 35 pounds.

Each one of these goals is attainable, each one is reachable and honestly, I believe each one is easy to hit. Even though they are easy, each one will take some determination and dedication to accomplish.  I hope that at the end of December 2018, I can look back and say that I accomplished each one of these goals!

What are your goals for the new year?

Success Involves Sacrifce

Success. We all want it. I believe every person dreams of success and being successful.

The problem is not everyone is successful and I believe few people ever accomplish their dream.

What’s the issue? Why aren’t people accomplishing their dreams? Why aren’t more people successful?

I look at my own life and where I’m at and I realize that I’m blessed beyond measure with everything God has given me. But I ask myself, is this all that God has for me?

I believe that God helps those who help themselves. What I mean is, God helps those that aren’t afraid to put in the extra hour of work, those who are willing to go above and beyond.

A key ingredient to being successful is sacrifice. You have to sacrifice something to put more time into your dream, into your desire.

“For a dream cometh through the multitude of business; and a fool’s voice is known by multitude of words.” Ecclesiastes 5:3 KJV

Dreams are only accomplished by business or work.

You ask people who are successful and have accomplished their dreams how they did it and they will tell you they worked hard.

What areas do you have to sacrifice in to be able to be successful?

Sacrifice some of your free time to put extra work in your dream.

Sacrifice some of your sleep to put extra work in your dream.

Sacrifice some of your extra money to invest in your dream.

Sacrifice is a part of success.

Don’t get discouraged when you feel like you’re sacrificing without seeing success. Keep on working hard, keep on giving your all. Don’t give up!

Just remember you can be successful, but there has to be some sacrifice somewhere that brings you to that success!

Working or Talking, What Are You Doing?

Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work. Thomas A. Edison

In today’s generation this is a word that hardly anyone puts to practice.

To some it is a dirty word, they don’t want to say work, think about work or even attempt to work.

Work. If there is one thing my parents taught me, it was how to work. I remember as a kid having to do chores. I learned how to vacuum, do the dishes, clean the bathrooms and so much more. I learned at a young age to work hard and I’m so thankful that my parents taught me to work!

“For a dream cometh through the multitude of business; and a fool’s voice is known by multitude of words.” ‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭5:3‬ ‭KJV

This verse is one of my favorite verses in the Bible. Simply it states that if you ever want to accomplish anything you have to work hard.

If you have a dream, a goal, a desire…you will have to work hard to see it come to pass. The greatest athletes didn’t become great just by sitting on the couch, they became great by spending hours and hours practicing and working on their game to become better. Whatever you want to do in life, you have to work hard.

I’ve seen people who talk more than they work and they wonder why they never accomplish anything. God’s Word tells us that a fool’s voice is known by the multitude of words. Foolish people are the ones who sit around and complain about how things are going. They are the ones who always have something to say about whatever is going on. The people that talk a lot are the ones who never get anything done.

Whatever your dream is? Whatever your goal is? Stop sitting around talking about it. Get up and start doing something to accomplish it!

Stop talking about what you are going to do for Christ! Stop talking about serving Him! Just start doing what you know to do as a Christian. If you start working for the Lord, He will bless you more then you will ever dream of!

You have to choose a side.

Be a worker or be a talker.

A worker accomplishes dreams and goals.

A talker talks about the one who is working, yet wants the success of the one who works!

“Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.” ~ Thomas A. Edison
